With Christmas fast approaching, the coffeehouse chains are already rolling out their Christmas drinks and foods. Everyone will be shopping more and stopping more often for that quick coffee and muffin or some other type of Christmas beverage and cake/bun before heading home.
They can easily pack a lot of calories if you’re not aware of them. Again this doesn’t mean avoiding your favourite coffee beverages, it just means making that smart swap to reduce the calories.
A good rule of thumb when trying to lower calories in drinks such as the one in the info-graphic is to choose skinny drinks that consist of non-fat milk, sugar free syrup and no whip cream.
When lowering calories in foods just have a quick scan of the buns, muffins and cakes that’s on offer, the label on them have the calorie amount shown. Opt for the lowest calorie one that you can see.
